Looking Through Your Pictures

In this article I'll share with you some of my ideas on how to to take pictures by looking through things.

Every year I paint a new snow scene on our sliding glass doors for Christmas. One year I wanted to paint a log cabin with a window that my cats Milo and Mazie could look through. They spend a lot of time out on the porch witch those doors lead to and I didn't want to completely take away there view. My cat Mazie was out there one day looking through the window at me saying, "Let me in." That gave me an idea for a picture. So I crouched down and peeped in the window at Justin who was already taking pictures inside of some ebay items we were about to sell. I said, "Hey, take my picture please." It took him a minute to see me but when he did he laughed, shook his head and took my picture. At first you notice the painting but take a closer look and there I am peeping at you. The next year I painted snow topped mountains and I think I got a good one of my brother Jon looking over the mountains. He looked like the abominable snow man in it. I love this photo but now when I take pictures through or at glass I've learned to shut my flash off so that I wont get a big white spot on my photographs like I did in this one.

It was my 26 birthday party and to celebrate I went out with some of my good friends to an arcade. My friend Sarah was waving to me through the ball grabber glass and I thought she looked lovely with all the colorful balls around her so what did i do? You guessed it, I took her picture. The reflections in the games glass panels really added a lot to that picture, it made it sparkle.
My grandmother loves her great grandson Ben. They love playing out in the yard together. Ben's never ending energy sometimes wears her out so we'll put the reclining lawn chair out there for her. I thought it was adorable the day he was trying to touch her through the chairs see through fabric. So I took there picture. I think it shows how much fun they were having that day with each other. I especially like my grandmothers big smile in the photo.

At our town park there is an old stone cabin in the middle of the woods. It's a tiny little home with a wood fireplace inside. No one lives in this house anyone so anyone is free to go inside. Justin and I were looking around in there one day and that's when I saw some creepy man in the window looking at me. But it was just Justin trying to scare me. I took his picture. All of the stone around the window shows the old age of the home. Now that I have that picture I'll be able to remember how creepy that man was.

When my daughter Lily was a baby her favorite toys were fake keys. She'd play with them for minutes. Hey, minutes are pretty long for a baby (smiley face) One day I looked into her crib to see if she was still sleeping. She wasn't, she was playing with her keys again. I knelt down next to her crib to say. "Go to sleep sweetie." That's when I saw the picture of Lily looking at me through her keys. I love how the colorful keys shape her cute little face.

All of these pictures were taken with a Nikon Cool Pix Camera.

Make Your Pictures Move

Are you tired of the same old stiff picture? In this article Ill tell you how the settings on your camera can help you show the motions in your photos.

Most cameras have a sports setting. Its usually a symbol of a person running. Or you could set your camera to burst. This means is that when you push the button to take a picture it will take many at one time. This makes it easy to catch things in motion.

My boyfriend Justin and I were at our town park and the leaves were beautiful that day. I wanted to take a picture but didn't want the same old, just stand there and smile kind of picture. So I set my camera to sports and asked him to take some pictures of me while I jumped around like crazy. The people walking probably thought I was nuts but I got what I wanted, a picture that shows the wonderful colors and me in motion.

I was trying out my new camera, The Nikon D90 on my friend Amy's son Jay. I took them to a playground because I thought it would make for some great pictures. It was hard to catch him, he was so fast. So I set my camera to burst and took his picture while he was crawling across the tires. I managed to catch the quick little guy with a big smile on his face.

My brother and I love to bowl but bowling alleys seem to make it hard to get good pictures because of the lighting. The lanes are usually lite up and the seating areas are not so you'll have to get up there with the bowler for this one. So I went up and stood next to Jon. I caught the ball in mid air and Jon's hand in motion right after he took his shot.

It was the day of my first real photo shoot with my friend Lisa's three beautiful kids. My playground idea had worked great for little Jay's pictures so I took Lisa and her kids out to a colorful playground. Lisa's two daughters were swinging on a tire swing. I took about fifty pictures of them while they swung. l kept the one where you can really see the happiness in the girls faces. They were having a blast. Later that same day the kids were running after each other through the fields so I set my camera to sports and got a good one of the youngest daughter running after her little brother. These settings are also great for catching the smiles that sometime are hard to capture.

What Is The Best Online Photo Storage?

Do you have tons of pictures and want to share them with others or are you looking for the best online photo storage? In this article I will give you some great ways to do that.

I take so many pictures and have to keep them organized in order to find them all. I have an external hard drive that I keep all of them on. I keep that hard drive in a fireproof box in case something should ever happen. The last thing I need is to have to run into a burning house to get my beloved pictures.

I want them as safe as possible. If you do not own a hard drive there are programs where you can store your pictures online.

Photobucket is one of the best photo sites I have ever found. It's great because you can create albums and keep them organized. After you have all of your pictures on there you can send your friends and family the link so that they can go on your Photobucket page and see all of your albums. if you want to upload your pictures but don't want to share them with others, Photobucket is also good for that. You can customize your albums to private so that you can only see them or certain friends and family. Photobucket is always having fun contests too. You can get points when you enter and even more if you win.

Facebook is another great site for pictures. I like it because you can see everyone ele's pictures too. When you upload a picture it will ask you if you would like to share it with others or not. You can also set your pictures to be open for comments. It's so much fun to see what people have to say about your work.

For years I had a box filled with loose pictures. I didn't like keeping them that way because whenever I went looking for one it would take forever to find the one I was looking for. Then I started putting them all into scrapbooks but that took too long and once they were pasted in there I couldn't get them out to print one. So I purchased a scanner. Its a device that hooks up to your computer and is used to scan the printed picture and create a digital image right into your computer. This is a great way to preserve your pictures. My grandmother has so many old photo albums and some of the older photo albums used acid in the glue which over time can destroy your pictures. So I scanned all of my grandmother's pictures and then saved them onto my hard drive.

If you have digital pictures than you can retouch them as well. There are many great sites you can use to correct things like bad coloring, facial blemishes, or anything else you'd like out of your pictures. Picasa is a free program to download from Google and then there is Adobe Photoshop.

So I hope these tips can help you find the best online photo storage. Pictures are so precious and irreplaceable and it's always a good thing to keep them as safe as possible to insure that you'll have them for long as possible.
